NOVA WiFi Settings Overview

Overview

This article provides an overview of the NOVA (Wireless) WiFi settings.

Android Phone WiFi Connection Settings

Network name (SSID): NOVAwifi

Security (if network added manually): WPA/WPA2-Enterprise

EAP method: PEAP

Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2

CA certificate: Use system certificates (Android 12 or below) Trust on First Use (Android 13)

Online Certificate Status (Android 12 or below): Do not verify

Domain (Android 12 or below): nvcc.edu OR nvstu.edu (depending upon which side you're connecting to)

Identity: nvcc\NVCC Username OR directory\myNOVA Username (e.g., nvcc\jsmith OR directory\js21805)

Password: NVCC Password OR myNOVA Password

In some cases, you will need to turn off Automatically Randomize MAC Address. You can do so by clicking on the settings symbol (gear symbol) to the right of the NOVAwifi network and find the Privacy setting. If it says Use randomized MAC (default) then you'll need to toggle it to Use device MAC.

Apple WiFi Connection Settings

Network name (SSID): NOVAwifi

Security (if network added manually): WPA2-Enterprise

Username: nvcc\NVCC Username OR directory\myNOVA Username (e.g., nvcc\jsmith OR directory\js21805)

Password: NVCC Password OR myNOVA Password

Chrome WiFi Connection Settings

Network name (SSID): NOVAwifi

EAP method: PEAP

Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2

CA certificate: Do Not Validate

Identity: nvcc\NVCC Username OR directory\myNOVA Username (e.g., nvcc\aphoenix OR directory\ajp21805)

Password: myNOVA Password

Share This Network With Other Users: Toggle ON

After entering all these settings, REBOOT.

When the computer turns back on, click on your desired network, and a connection should be established within 10 seconds.
