Overview

This article provides a detailed overview of Zoom host controls and special features.

Zoom Host Controls

The following controls are available to the Zoom meeting host during a Zoom meeting:

 

Mutes/unmutes yourself

 

Turns your webcam on/off

Email an invitation to attendees

Displays/hides the Participants panel. From within the Participants panel, you can mute/unmute individual participants or select More at the bottom of the panel to mute participants upon entry.

Shares a screen or individual app with participants. Select Advanced to share only a portion of a screen.

Note: When sharing your screen, all Zoom controls minimize to a small, green button in the top center of the screen. Hover over it to expand the controls. Click the  button to stop sharing.

Displays/hides the chat panel. Select More to allow attendees to chat with the host-only or everyone.

Enable/disable closed captioning (CC) for the meeting

Records the web conference to your local computer or to “the cloud” (i.e., a Zoom server)

Displays options to leave the meeting or end meeting for all participants

Leave the meeting

End meeting for all participants
