ACEPrint Faculty Overview

Overview

This article provides an overview of ACEPrint for Faculty. Canon has joined with NOVA to bring you a new student print solution. Submit your print jobs and pick them up from any ACEPrint device on campus. We hope you enjoy the new printing experience. ACEPrint is for Faculty, Staff, currently enrolled Students, and Guests. Faculty and Staff can charge jobs to their department(s) or pay using their ACE$ account. Students pay with their ACE$ account, Guests can purchase a Guest card to pay and print. All jobs can be picked up at any ACEPrint device on any campus. Most ACEPrint devices can print in Color and Black & White.

Get Access to ACEPrint

Faculty and Staff must be granted access to the ACEPrint System to be able to use the system.

  1. Send an email to asknovacard@nvcc.edu with the following information:

  • First and Last Name

  • EMPLID

  • Your Division

  • Your Department

  • Your Department Code

  1. Once your request is processed, drives for ACEPrint will be installed on your computer. Start printing!

ACEPrint Features

  • Print – Various sizes

  • Copy – Various sizes

  • Scan to email – Allows scan to self or enter an email address

  • Faxing – Only ACEPrint devices in faculty and staff areas have faxing capabilities

Print

  1. Select the File tab and then select Print.

  2. Select an ACEPrint print driver:

  • <Campus>FacultyAcePrint BW

  • <Campus>FacultyAcePrint Color

  1. Click the Print button.

  1. A pop-up displays confirming a successfully print submission.

  2. Go to the nearest ACEPrint device to release your print job.

Important: If a print job exceeds 20 pages, a pop-up displays.  Click the Yes button to continue or click the No button to cancel the print job.

Non-standard size paper pop-up: A non-standard size is something other than 8.5 x 11(Letter) or 8.5 x 14 (legal).  Click the Yes button to continue or click the No button to cancel the print job.

Copy

  1. Tap card or login.

  1. The card balance displays. Click the OK button.

  1. Select Print Release to make copies.

  1. Click the Make Copies button.

  1. Place the originals in the feeder or on the glass. Use the keypad to enter the number of copies. Change the settings as needed.

  1. Press Start to begin copying.

Scan

  1. Tap card or login.

  1. The card balance displays. Click the OK button.

  1. Select Scan and Send.

  1. Select Send to Myself sends your document to your NVCC email. Select New Destination sends via email to one or more recipients. Enter email address(es). Select any of the settings you wish to change.

  1. Click the Start Sending button to send the document.

Mobile Print

Mobile Print allows you to print using phones, tablets, laptops, and computers from anywhere!

  1. Send an email from your email account to ACEPrintMobile@NVCC.edu. Your email may need to be registered. See below for instructions. If you do not have a NOVACard, see Guest Printing below.

  2. Enter a Subject line (optional).

  3. Attach the File to be printed. The supported Format are Word, Excel, PPT, PDF, Images (JPG, TIFF, GIF, BMP), text (CSV, RTF & TXT), and Visio.

IMPORTANT: Both the attachment and the body of the email will be available for print.

  1. Select Send and go to the nearest Canon printer to release your print job.

The first time you send a print job to ACEPrintMobile@nvcc.edu from your NVCC or personal email account, you will receive a response email with a link and registration information.

Follow the instructions in the email to register your email address.

Note: Your file has already been sent to the printer. There is no need to resend your file.

Once your account has been activated, you may use Mobile Print.

Release Your Print Job

  1. Tap your card on the Prox Reader to login.

  1. Select Charge to Budget code/Charge to Personal account to access your print jobs.

  1. Select a print job and choose one of the following options. Delete, Print, or Print All.

  1. Select Log Out when finished. Lower right of the display.
