Set Up myNOVA (VCCS) MFA Time-Based One Time Password (TOTP) Notification

Overview

This article details the steps to set up myNOVA (VCCS) Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) with Time-Based One Time Password (TOTP) notification using your mobile device.

Edit Profile Settings

  1. Go to https://nvcc.my.vccs.edu/.

  2. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) username and click the GO button.

  1. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) password and click the GO button.

  1. Click the  icon at the top of the Applications page and select Profile Settings.

  1. Click the Edit Profile button.

  1. Select OPT-IN MFA TOTP and click the Save button.

  1. A message displays stating the operation was successful. Click the Close button.

Set Up RapidIdentity App

  1. On your mobile device, search for the RapidIdentity App.

  2. Tap the  icon to install the App.

  1. Tap Open.

  1. Tap Continue.

  1. The following screen displays. You will need to sign in to myNOVA to view a QR Code to scan with the RapidIdentity app.

  1. Go to https://nvcc.my.vccs.edu/.

  2. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) username and click the GO button.

  1. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) password and click the GO button.

  1. In the RapidIdentity app, tap Scan QR Code.

  1. Scan the QR code with the RapidIdentity app and tap Submit.

  1. A message displays stating the user was successfully created. Tap OK.

  1. Enter the One-Time Password displayed on the RapidIdentity App into the myNOVA screen with the QR code and click the GO button to complete MFA TOTP set up.

Sign In to myNOVA (VCCS) with MFA

  1. Go to https://nvcc.my.vccs.edu/.

  2. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) username and click the GO button.

  1. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) password and click the GO button.

A screen displays prompting you to enter the One-Time Password from the RapidIdentity app.

  1. Open the RapidIdentity app and get the One-Time Password.

  1. Enter the One-Time Password displayed on the RapidIdentity App into the myNOVA screen and click the GO button.
