Overview
This article details the steps to claim your myNOVA (VCCS) account.
Steps

Go to https://nvcc.my.vccs.edu/.

Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) username and then click the GO button.

Select one of the two options to receive the claim code to activate your account and then click the Continue button.

If your personal information matches the information the system has on file, you should receive the claim code via text message or personal email.
Note: The claim code contains 8 numbers.

Note: This code should come from the myvccs@email.vccs.edu email address.
Note: If you do not receive any email with a code on your inbox, please check your junk or spam folder.

Enter your date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD format) and the claim code you received.

Click the NEXT button.

Create/update your myNOVA (VCCS) password.
Your password MUST be:
Your password MUST meet 3 of the following:

Minimum 1 lowercase letter
-
Minimum 1 number
-
Minimum 1 special character
-
Minimum 1 uppercase letter
Do NOT use attribute(s):
-
VCCS ID
-
Last Name
-
First Name
-
Click the NEXT button.

Once your myNOVA (VCCS) password is created/updated, your account claim process is completed. Click the CONTINUE button.

Enter your new/updated myNOVA (VCCS) password and then click the GO button.

Returning Student: Please authenticate using the previous MFA method used to access your myNOVA (VCCS) account (Push Authentication, TOTP authentication, or SMS Authentication).
Note: If you have any MFA access issue, please contact the IT Help Desk for assistance (https://www.nvcc.edu/about/offices/ithd/index.html).
Push Authentication: You need to approve your login using the authenticator app you previously installed and configured on your mobile phone (RapidIdentity, Microsoft or Google authenticators).

TOTP Authentication: Enter the one-time password provided by the authenticator app you previously installed and configured on your mobile phone (RapidIdentity, Microsoft or Google authenticators and then click the GO button.

SMS Authentication: Enter the one-time code sent to your mobile phone via text message and then click the GO button.

Once you successfully authenticate, you will have access to your myNOVA (VCCS) account (My Applications).
