This article details the steps to set up myNOVA (VCCS) Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) with text messaging using your mobile device.

Edit Profile Settings

Note: You must enter your mobile number in SIS to set up and use MFA. Follow these instructions to enter your mobile number in SIS.

  1. Go to https://nvcc.my.vccs.edu/.

  2. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) username and click the GO button.

  1. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) password and click the GO button.

  1. Click the  icon at the top of the Applications page and select Profile Settings.

  1. Click the Edit Profile button when prompted.

  1. Select the MFA SMS checkbox, select SMS as your preferred authentication method, and click the Save button.

Note: If SMS does not display as an available preferred authentication method in the drop-down menu, first click the Save button and then repeat Steps 4-6.

Note: It is highly recommended you select multiple authentication methods as options to ensure a backup in case of any issues.

Sign In to myNOVA (VCCS) using MFA with Text

  1. Go to https://nvcc.my.vccs.edu/.

  2. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) username and click the GO button.

  1. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) password and click the GO button.

  1. Receive the SMS code as a text message to your mobile device.

  1. Enter the SMS code when prompted and click the GO button.
