Zoom

What is it?

Zoom is NOVA's Web Conferencing Tool. Zoom allows participants to connect to virtual meetings and instructions from their computer, mobile device, or phone. Zoom is easily accessed through myNOVA or Canvas.

Who is Eligible to Use It?

NVCC faculty and staff are provisioned Zoom Pro licenses which allow unlimited meetings for up to 300 participants. College Computing also centrally manages Zoom webinar licenses for up to 3000 participants. Zoom meetings and webinars offer similar features but have key differences. Zoom meetings are more collaborative and webinars offer more audience controls. You can review the differences between a Zoom meeting and webinar here: Meetings and webinars comparison – Zoom Support

Where Can I Get It?

If you need to schedule a webinar, please submit a Zoom Webinar Request (105-400). The Video Collaboration Team will review your request and once approved, they will schedule a webinar on your behalf. Requests for webinars should be submitted at least 10 business days prior to the event. Please also note webinar licenses are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.

Click the Zoom Technical Help button on this page if you are having trouble authenticating or accessing your planned Zoom meeting or experiencing issues with one of the Neat audio or video components in units in your location.

Note for Students: do not use personal Zoom account credentials to authenticate to classroom Zoom sessions supplied by NOVA faculty, they will not work. Navigate to the myNOVA portal, access Canvas and join the Zoom session from your class to avoid any authentication issues.
