After a moment, the device will boot up, and the screen will display a message saying “This Lane Closed”

When it is powered on, the device will have green lights indicating the power, battery status, and Bluetooth connection.

- Power on the iPad by briefly holding down the button on the side of the device. Once the device is powered on, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reach the home screen, and tap the Marketplace POS app icon.

- Once opened, login with the provided credentials. If there are any issues with your login, please contact marketplace@nvcc.edu

- Once logged in, you will be brought to your Club’s store page. You will find your store’s products listed, along with their respective prices. In order to sell a product, tap on “Add to cart” below the icon.

- Once you select an item, you will be given the option to select the quantity you would like to sell and check out. Tap the “Checkout” option. If you wish to empty the cart, tap the “Clear” button, located next to the “Checkout” button.

- You will be taken to a screen listing different payment methods. This may be limited to fewer options than shown.

- When selecting “Credit Card”, the credit card machine will display a prompt to either Insert, Swipe, or Tap Card. You may now Insert or tap the customer’s credit card or mobile device to the machine in order to take their payment. NOTE: If you wish to cancel the transaction, press the red button. This will not empty your cart on the iPad.

- Once payment is processed, you will be given the option to print out a receipt that you can provide to the customer. You also have the option to have it sent by email. Once, printed, you may tap the “Done” button to move on. NOTE: If you complete the transaction without printing the receipt, it cannot be reprinted. If the customer still desires a receipt, please take note of the time of the transaction, the customer’s name and email address, and contact us at marketplace@nvcc.edu so that we may provide them with an online receipt.

- Once the receipt is printed, you may provide it to the customer. You will not need a merchant copy.

Voiding a Transaction in the Digital Marketplace
- If you have mistakenly charged a customer for the wrong item or amount, you are able to void the transaction. Begin by clicking the menu button the top left of the screen.

- A dropdown menu will appear. Click on the “Order Search” button.

- You will be brought to the “Order Search” page. Here you will be able to search for transactions made in past 3 or 7 days, depending on which filter you select. You may also filter your search by Order Number or Receipt Reference Number. (The other fields will not work.) You may find the Order Number listed on the top of the receipt. Once you have selected your filters, click “Search” at the bottom.

- You will be given a list of results based on your filters. Tap on the transaction you wish to void.

- Once you are at the transaction page, confirm that it is the correct transaction that you wish to void. Click on “View Items To Return”.

- Select the Quantity of each item in the transaction you wish to void. Once done, click ‘Submit’.

- A confirmation window will pop up. Click ‘OK’ to proceed.

- Once done, the transaction will be voided. You will be provided with the opportunity to print a return receipt. Like the original transaction, the receipt can be printed or emailed.

Troubleshooting
- By swiping from the right side of the screen to the left side, you will see the devices that the iPad is connected to. Confirm that under Payment info, the status shows Connected, and that under Printer Info, it says Ready. You can also see the Battery % of the Credit Card machine as well, which can be charged with the Anker Power Bank if needed.

- You may encounter a purple Error screen stating that the app has failed to connect with the credit card reader. This may occur if the credit card machine has gone to ‘sleep’ for inactivity. You will need to wake up the credit card reader by pressing a button on the reader, and the app should reconnect. If the reader is on and the error screen still persists, you will need to refresh the app by swiping up from the bottom of the screen to leave it, and then re-open it.

- If the receipt printer is offline during a transaction, it will show the error below when attempting to print the receipt. Please make sure the printer is on before proceeding. Once you turn the printer back on, you will be allowed to print the receipt. NOTE: If you complete the transaction without printing the receipt, it cannot be reprinted. If the customer still desires a receipt, please take note of the time of the transaction, the customer’s name and email address, and contact us at marketplace@nvcc.edu so that we may provide them with an online receipt.
