Digital Marketplace- FAQs

 Frequently Asked Questions

How Can My Club Get Involved With The Marketplace?

  • Reach out to your campus Student Life office to find out if your club is eligible to do fundraising.  If so they can initiate the process to get your club a Storefront.

What Items Can My Club Sell On The Marketplace?

  • You can sell any items that are approved by Student Life.  This often includes various food items, event tickets, services, etc...  Donations can also be setup to be accepted during fundraising events.

How Far In Advance Do We Need To Request A Storefront Be Created Or Updated Before Our Event?

  • We ask that you allow at least 5 business days before the event.  This allows time for approval, product setup and testing.

Where Can I Get A Mobile Point Of Sale (MPOS) Kit For My Fundraiser?

  • Your campus Parking & NOVACard office can get your club a MPOS for your event.  They will check out the kit for you and help show you how to use it if needed.

  • Return the MPOS Kit to the same office once your event as concluded.

What Payment Methods Are Accepted?

  • Marketplace can accept Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, and Discover.

  • Apple & Google Pay are also accepted when using our MPOS Kit.

Are There Any Transaction Or Processing Fees Deducted From Our Sales?

  • No!  There are no fees assessed against the Clubs when using the Marketplace.  You'll receive all funds generated into your designated Club account.

Can We Process Refunds/Voids On Marketplace Sales?

  • If a transaction needs to be voided during the event this can be done through the Marketplace app on the iPad. (Instructions on how to void can be found here)

  • If the event is over and a transaction needs to be refunded please contact marketplace@nvcc.edu.  Include as many details about the transaction as you can.

What Do We Do If Our Credit Card Machine Gets Disconnected And Now The App Has An Error Message ?

  • When the iPad and Credit Card machine lose their Bluetooth connection to each other you will see an error pop-up on the app.  A stable connection is required at all times for the Marketplace app to function properly.  If this happens try the following:

    • Ensure the Credit Card machine is powered on before opening the Marketplace app.

    • If the error occurred while using the app the Bluetooth connection was most likely lost.  In these situations exit the app completely and restart it.  This will reinitialize the connection and get you back to your storefront.  Any transaction data you had done previously will be saved.
