Set Up myNOVA (VCCS) MFA Text Message Notification

Overview

This article details the steps to set up myNOVA (VCCS) Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) with text messaging using your mobile device.

Edit myNOVA (VCCS) Profile Settings

  1. Go to https://nvcc.my.vccs.edu/.

  2. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) username and then click the GO button.

  1. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) password and then click the GO button.

  1. Click the  icon at the top of the Applications page and then select Profile Settings.

  1. Click the Edit Profile button.

  1. Enter a mobile phone number and alternate email address.

  2. Click the Save button.

  1. Click the  icon at the top of the Applications page and then select Profile Settings.

  1. Click the Edit Profile button.

  1. Select the MFA SMS checkbox, select SMS as your preferred authentication method, and then click the Save button.

Note: If SMS does not display as an available preferred authentication method in the drop-down menu, first click the Save button and then repeat Steps 8-10.

Note: We recommend you select multiple authentication methods as options to ensure a backup in case of any issues.

Sign In to myNOVA (VCCS) using MFA with Text

  1. Go to https://nvcc.my.vccs.edu/.

  2. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) username and then click the GO button.

  1. Enter your myNOVA (VCCS) password and then click the GO button.

  1. Receive the SMS code as a text message to your mobile device.

  1. Enter the SMS code when prompted and then click the GO button.
