Overview
This article details the steps to make a Cisco phone conference call.
Note: The College is transitioning from Cisco phones to Microsoft Teams Voice. Phone services will be provisioned based on the migration status of your campus or department. Please visit NOVAnet for more information on the Microsoft Teams Voice project.
Use Dial-out Conferencing (Up to 4 users)
-
Dial users yourself and then push MORE until you can see CONF at the bottom.
-
Push CONF and you connect that person to a conference call.
-
Dial the next individual.
Use Call-in Conferencing (Up to 10 Users)
-
Have users call you (or a designated individual).
-
User pushes MORE until CONF appears at the bottom.
-
Push CONF to add the user to the CONF. However, a better way to do this is with a MEET ME conference.
Use Meet-Me Conferencing (Up to 15 users)
Note: All Meet Me conferences must be initiated inside the College network on a college IP phone.
-
Establish a conference number for each participant dial. The first is the campus number:
-
The next 2 digits are 19. The last two digits can be any 2 numbers you like. Make sure the participants know the number you created.
-
Pick up your phone or push the speaker phone button for a dial tone. Push MORE until you get MEETME at the bottom.
-
Push MEETME. It will ask for the number and then enter the 5-digit number you created.
-
Have the attendees call 703-323-2000, enter 1 for Meet Me and enter the 5-digit conference number. If they are inside the College, they can dial the 5-digits directly instead of the full long phone number 703-323-2000.
Note: There must be at least one participant on the conference call. If the last person on the conference call hangs up, the conference call will be terminated.
